The Way of Salvation

The Way of Salvation

SIN
We are designed to have a personal relationship with God.
However, our sin has created a great barrier between us and a holy God which has broken that relationship.
Your iniquities (sins) have separated between you and your God,
and your sins have hid His face from you, so that He will not hear.
(Isaiah 59v2)
There are none righteous, no not one.
(Romans 3v10)
SELF
People try to build their own bridge to God by doing various things, but there is nothing we can do to bridge the distance between us and God.
We cannot save ourselves.
Not by works done in righteousness.
(Titus 3v5)
By grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
not of works, that no man should glory.
(Ephesians 2v8-9)
GOD
God, in His great love for us, has done it all and provided a Saviour.
The only one who could span the distance was Jesus Christ.
The due penalty for our sin is death, which means eternal separation from God.
Jesus came to pay the price for our sin on the Cross and through His death and resurrection we are able to come to God for salvation.
The Father hath sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
(1 John 4v14)
Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that He might bring us to God.
(1 Peter 3v18)
FAITH
God is now able to offer us the free gift of eternal salvation by simply trusting Christ as our personal Lord and Saviour. To receive that gift, recognise that you have sinned against God and believe on the Lord Jesus.
Believe on the Lord Jesus and thou shalt be saved.
(Acts 16v31)
Without faith it is impossible to be well-pleasing unto Him; for He that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that seek after Him.
(Hebrews 11v6)
CONFESS
Have You received Christ as Your Saviour?
As many as received Him, to them gave He the right to become children of God, even to them that believe on His name.
(John 1v12)
If thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord, and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
(Rom 10v9-10)
